Targetcraft Archers competing around the county and beyond in the last few weeks
The last few weeks have been packed with competitions, and it’s been fantastic to see so many Targetcraft Archers representing the club.
Junior Archery Series Stage 3 – WA720 & Head-to-Heads, hosted by Wallingford Archery
The Junior Archery Series (JAS) is a five-stage competition that attracts around 100 young archers from across the country. Competitors take part in Barebow U21, Compound U21, and Recurve U15, U18 and U21 categories. It’s one of the few competitions where, in the Barebow and Compound divisions, a 13-year-old can find themselves competing against a 20-year-old in the same youth category!
This was Bella’s second JAS event of the season. Despite very windy conditions in Wallingford, Oxford, and having to deal with a broken arrow rest arm during the day, she shot well throughout the qualification round.
Bella finished 9th in the U15 Recurve Female category and narrowly missed out in the first round of the head-to-head matches. A great performance in challenging conditions—well done, Bella! 
Long Buckby American
As always, we received a warm welcome at Long Buckby, with proceeds from the bake sale and raffle going to charity. It was great to see Bella, Caroline, Martin, Toby, Anita, Scott, Kerri, Pete, Tony and Helen on the shooting line. The day brought plenty of success, including personal bests, club and county records, medals, beautiful slate coasters and even a trophy!
EMAS Senior & Junior Championships
Hosted by Bowmen of Glen, this year’s championships took place in glorious sunshine, with archers tackling WA1440 and Metric rounds in extremely hot conditions. It was certainly a test of stamina, hydration and sunscreen! Targetcraft was proudly represented by Gary, Scott, Anita, Pete, Toby and Bella, who returned home with medals, personal bests and club records.
NCAS Caswell Stage II Double WA720
The final competition was hosted by Archers of Raunds. Although temperatures were a little cooler than the previous weekend, a strong headwind made for challenging shooting conditions. Congratulations to Martin, Chris, Caroline, Scott and Bella for some fantastic performances, earning medals and personal bests. We even managed to get a group photo with four of them!
Congratulations to everyone who competed. It’s wonderful to see so many great performances and achievements across the club. Well done all!
